How to choose different types of oil seals?

The selection of the oil seal depends on the medium used and the working environment. The sealing medium determines the material of the oil seal. The working environment mainly considers the operating pressure, working line speed and working temperature range. Therefore, when choosing the material of the oil seal, the following points should be considered:
1. Compatibility of the material to the medium used
2. Adaptability to the working temperature range
3. The ability of the lip to follow when the rotating shaft rotates at a high speed. Generally, the temperature of the lip when the oil seal is working is 20-50 °C higher than the temperature of the medium used. Attention should be paid to the selection of oil seal materials.
4. The operating pressure of ordinary oil seals generally does not exceed 0.05MPa. When the working pressure exceeds this value, the pressure-resistant oil seal should be selected
5. The linear speed range of oil seals is generally less than 15m/s. Under the same diameter, oil seals made of different materials have different abilities to adapt to the rotational speed of the shaft surface.
6. The working temperature range of the oil seal is related to the material used for the oil seal: when the material is nitrile rubber (NBR), it is -40 to 120 °C, and fluororubber (FPM) is -25 to 300 °C. According to different working temperature requirements, choose the right one. oil seal material
